Course Of Study
Xavier College has Forms one to seven. A range of subjects is offered from Forms one to four. Students choose Arts or Science streams in Forms five to seven . Computer Studies is offered as an optional subject to both Arts and Science students. It is a compulsory core subject for Forms three to seven .
Staff and students:
There are 776 students and 37 staff. Xavier College is multi racial and multi religious. The language used by staff and students for communication with in the College campus is English.
Parents Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA):
The PTFA of Xavier College is a very active, strong and supportive body that assists the Management in its development projects with the help of the local community.
Ex-students association:
This association is now being revived and is becoming a vibrant organisation supporting the College.
Examinations and Reports:
Continuous internal assessment of students work is done through out the year. 4th and 8th weeks of each term are short test weeks. In addition
at the end of each term there are term examinations. Parents receive reports of the academic performance of their children three times a year: (1) Term 1 Report: Friday, Week 1, Term 2- which is usually the Parents' Day. (2) Term 2 Report : Week 2, Term 3. (3) Term 3 Report: End of term 3.
Club Activities:
For the all round development of the students, Xavier College offers a variety of co-curricular activities such as Athletics Club, Soccer Club, Netball Club, Basket Ball Club, Tennis Club, Table Tennis Club, Oratory Club, Quiz Club, Fine Arts Club, Science Club, Inter Act Club, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, St. Vincent de Paul Society of XC etc. Students are encouraged to take part in various club activities.
Cadet Training:
Cadet training is a compulsory component of Xavier Education for Forms 5 to 7 since 1995. The cadet passing out parade which is held by the end of July each year is a unique event in Ba.
School Functions:
The school has an integrated approach to education. It has various school functions such as Investiture Ceremony, Mini Meets, Inter House Sports Meet, Students' Day, Parents' Day, Inter Form Sports Festival, Drama Festival, Montfort Day, Cadet Passing Out Parade, Children's Day, Teachers' Day, College Day etc. which provides plenty of variety to educational activities.
